It all began with a trip to Montreal…

"Folklore began almost by accident, when a trip to Montreal overlapped with leaving a job and resulted in a new found fixation on bagels…

Having baked bread since my childhood and not being able to find any bagels in the U.K that compared to those in Montreal - the only solution was to start making them. So, I took a chance and sent an email whilst heading over to New York to do some Bagel research...

This same email then lead us to find the perfect space, in the heart of our community! A few months later - Folklore was born. Since then we've hand rolled thousands of bagels, pulled countless espressos and enjoyed every single slightly odd conversation that seems to happen naturally in the space." - Alex, Founder

To those invested in Mr Macchiato the stupid cat who we saved from getting hit by a train a few weeks ago. We’ve managed to catch him, take him to the vets and on Wednesday this little stray will go to a lovely rescue locally to start his new happy life of not sleeping outside and getting hit by trains! He’s very lovely

NEW SIGNING - The eagle eyed amongst you may have already spotted, but we’re pleased to announce Meredith has joined the team on a free transfer and will be serving you all on Saturdays and maybe a few other of the days too. Bagel Director Alex Light says “We are excited to welcome Meredith to the club and excited to see how she performs on the pitch”
